Michael O’Rourke

Scotia Vision, formed in 2009, is an Ophthalmic consulting business specializing in drug, drug delivery, and medical devices for both established and start up companies in the USA and Europe.

Scotia Vision has worked with some of the industry’s most innovative companies and products, including multiple drug delivery technologies, topical drugs, the world’s first “bionic eye” surgical prosthesis, femtosecond cataract, breakthrough pediatric visual diagnostics, nutraceuticals, a unique ocular research center, and more, both in the USA and Europe. Our role has included Scientific Advisory Board membership and developing both business and financial plans, including capital raising for start up companies.


Bernard Lim

Bernard founded a medical device company which he grew and led to a highly successful acquisition by a global pharmaceutical. As CEO, Board Chair and Director, he has led the growth of both start-ups and corporate multinationals spanning diverse industry sectors including biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices, electronics and high technology across US, Canada and Europe. Bernard is a mentor to multiple university spin-out companies and is our resident Health and Life Sciences EIR.


Lynn Winterton

After almost 30 years, Lynn retired from CIBA Vision (now Alcon) in 2013; where he filled various research leadership and corporate executive roles.  He now heads three consulting companies which focus on medical devices, polymeric biomaterials and ocular disinfection systems.  His Ph.D. is in Materials Science and Engineering with specialties in (polymeric) biomaterial surface interactions and pharmaceutics.  He is a named inventor on 71 issued US patents (with numerous foreign filings); which accounted for over 2.4 billion USD sales revenue for 2016.
